3MVHB (Very High Bond) ACRYLIC FOAM TAPE

        The unique range of 3M VHB Tapes provides high performance bonding through the ability to stretch and recover with changes in temperature and different expansion rates of dissimilar materials. VHB(TM) Acrylic Foam Tape, 3M(TM) Used throughout industry to replace screws, rivets, welds and other mechanical fastening for permanent assembly in many applications. Fast, easy to use and reliable, VHB tapes help improve styling, performance and productivity. Foam conforms to many irregular surfaces and helps provide sealing, cushioning and impact resistance. 3M VHB 4930, is a 25 mil thick acrylic foam with a special A-30 family adhesive designed to work especially well on aluminum. Surfaces are cleaned per the 3M specs, the 1/2" wide tape is applied to the coach structure, then the exterior sheeting applied.

        VHB high bond self-adhesive acrylic foam tapes allow the joining of similar or dissimilar materials. Applications include: curtain wall cladding, decorative metals, window manufacturing and composite panels. Its visco-elastic core lets substrates expand at different rates while maintaining high bond performance -- up to 6 times that of conventional double coated foam tapes. This results in an uninterrupted, aesthetically pleasing joint line, and saves time as well as the hidden costs of mechanical fasteners or welds, such as surface refinishing, and caulking or sealing holes and joints.
