3 The Zeller Letter which appears on our news page here.
8 Jan 2002 - I have updated this page to reflect the information from the Zellers in Switzerland. On the wedding announcement, it is easy to see how Leitha Trefren read Ringier as Thegnier. The R looks like Th to me. Given the R, the name is clearly spelled Regnier. The Zellers sent copies of the baptismal records; there the name appears usually as Ringier, but sometimes Ringuier. For Margaret Christenot, the second girl, her age given in 1850 & 1860 censuses and on her tombstone indicates that she was born in 1802. So I am not comfortable changing her birth year to 1803, eventhough I see it on the baptismal record. As for Samuel Christinat, Leitha said that Louis & Salome arrived in Philadelphia with 4 children, 1 girl & 3 boys. In the 1820 census, Louis has 3 boys in his home. I've no idea what became of Samuel. --Jerise
