BIOGRAPHICAL DETAILS: Cousin "Sock" is the nephew of Gus Goose, and a relative to Donald Duck and Huey, Dewey & Louie. He looks very much like his uncle Gus, only thinner and he wears glasses. He is also very intelligent. He came to visit Donald and the Nephews and stayed for a short while and was involved in several, primarily "gag" stories (one of which even involved Neighbor Jones). "Sock" is not his real name, but rather a nickname he was given because he is likely to be the victim of a "sock" (punch) to the face. His real name is Socrates M. Gosling, an Al Taliaferro character who appeared a few times in the mid-1940s (several of which were reprinted in WDC&S # 84 - 86), and almost never again afterwards. However, he has appeared in a recent Egmont story from 1984 by writer David Gerstein.
