BIOGRAPHICAL DETAILS: General Snozzie is a bloodhound formally known as "The Official Hound of the Junior Woodchucks." He has many incredible talents, most notably, Gen. Snozzie has the ability to use his nose to detect any substance on command. In a demonstration using Uncle Donald as prey, Huey and Dewey explain to Daisy that, "He has two trainloads of trophies he has won in tracking competitions" ... "he wears a special nose filter for deep sea work, like finding lost divers!" ... he wears an inflatable balloon jacket for tracking in the air ... "he has tracked men in rubber shoes through aisles of fish markets" ... and even when his prey messes with his senses, "He doesn't need to smell, see, or hear! He can track by Braille!" He first appeared in Carl Barks' "Dodging Miss Daisy" (WDC&S #213 -June 1958). In some 1970s Junior Woodchucks comics Pluto is shown to be the Woodchucks' Official Hound, as is Bornworthy (Bolivar), Donald's St. Bernard. For example, "The Day the Mountain Shook" (JW #13) by Carl Barks where after Huey, Dewey, and Louie are demoted to Mere Beanheads in the Junior Woodchucks over a fiasco caused by a misread pancake recipe, a digging machine owned by $crooge nearly destroyed the Woodchucks' favorite campsite. Some other appearances include WDC&S #276 "Beach Boy" (Sep. 1963), WDC&S #227 (reprinted in JW #4 & #58) in "The Black Forest Rescue" and U$A #27 in "Guardians of the Lost Library, "Beagle Boys" #41 in "The Tell-Tale Nose, " U$ #60 (reprinted in #114 & #184) in "The Phantom of Notre Duck."
