When Baloo failed to make payment on his loan for his Plane, the Sea Duck, and his agency "Baloo's Air Service," the Bank sold the deed to Rebecca Cunningham (fresh out of business school). The bank recommended Baloo as a great pilot, so Rebecca desired to keep him on as her company pilot. Of course all of this was hard for Baloo's pride to swallow, but after a harrowing run in with Don Karnage's Air Pirates and the nefarious industrial magnate, Shere Kahn, Baloo softened to Becky's (she hates it when he calls her that) offer. Rebecca renamed the service to "Higher for Hire" and has proven herself to be quite the savvy business woman. She has a lot of business sense, cost cutting measures and all, and is always trying to come up with some new gimmick to attract business. Rebecca seems to be constantly lecturing Baloo about something (he's late, he's messy, he's lost the entire cargo... whatever). Despite her stern demeanor, Rebecca is quite fond Baloo and her other employees, Kit Cloudkicker, Baloo's navigator, and Wildcat, the agency's strange, but very gifted, mechanic. Subtlety betrays Rebecca in her affection for Kit, where she tends to treat him as though he were her own son (something Kit doesn't mind at all). Though initially inexperienced, by later episodes she is shown to have become a quite capable pilot. Rebecca usually wears a pink sweater over a white turtleneck with violet pants. Molly, Rebecca's daughter, is a typical bundle of energy for her age (which is probably around four or five years old). She often gets into danger by stowing away on Baloo's plane. She likes to wear a cape on her back, a colander on her head and carry a spatula in her hand pretending she is a super-heroine called "Danger Woman," a heroine from her favorite radio program. Her best friend, aside from Kit, is her dolly whom she calls Lucy. What ever happened to Molly's father (and presumably Rebecca's husband) was never revealed, but Rebecca has proven herself quite capable of caring for herself and her daughter. Rebecca is so secure in herself she doesn't seem to mind the attention Baloo gives Molly, often taking on the role of substitute daddy. Molly is the cutest star of the show. She often wears blue overalls and a pink shirt, and blue ribbons around her ears. See also the DTA entry under "Disney's TaleSpin." |
