The criminally mad Professor Norton Nimnul was first introduced in the premiere two hour special for "Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers" called "To The Rescue." In this episode he was hired by the crimelord Aldren Klordane (Fat Cat's owner) to create a device that utilized a stolen ruby to power a Laser Cannon. The cannon was created to mix a giant vat of gelatine with an ice glacier to make a giant jello mold which would cause an earthquake under the United States Gold Reserve cracking it like an egg, and causing the bullion to fall into an underground mineshaft where Klordane and his minions have established an underground railroad to haul the cash.
