BIOGRAPHICAL DETAILS: Donald Duck's nutty professor, scientist and psychologist uncle from Austria. His primary role in the Duck universe is to psychoanalyze human nature, often using such sterling examples as Donald, his nephews, and Goofy as his test subjects. Like Gyro, Ludwig is also a scientist and inventor whose gizmos and experiments often go awry. In Ludwig's comic book premiere issue of his very own title he arrived at "Duckburg, USA" by train. Uncle $crooge, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Grandma Duck and the Nephews were all anxiously waiting at the station for him, but having never met their foreign relative, none of them knew what he looked like. Ludwig also has a travelling companion in the form of a Bootle Beetle named Herman. Ludwig von Drake has appeared in three different animated series as a guest star: "DuckTales," "Raw Toonage," and "Quack Pack."
