Jessica is the beautiful and voluptuous sultry singing star of the "Ink & Paint Club," a night club in Toontown, and Roger's guest star in many of his "Maroon" cartoons. When cartoon financeer Marvin Acme turned up dead it was suspected that Roger killed him in a fit of jealousy since Marvin and Jessica had a very close friendship. Roger was innocent, and for a time it was suggested that Jessica herself might have done the crime. As it turned out the rogue 'toon Judge Doom was the actual murderer and was eventually destroyed. The further adventures of Roger, Jessica, Baby Herman and Benny the Cab were told in comics titled "Roger Rabbit" and "Roger Rabbit's Toontown" from the early 1990s. |

Most of the characters from the film "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" find their roots in the 1981 novel by Gary K. Wolf called "Who Censored Roger Rabbit." Roger's Disney-based (Touchstone) continuity began with the feature-length film. Roger, Jessica, and the others are co-residents with all 'toons in Toontown which, according to Mr. Wolf, is Santa Cruz, California. In the movie, however, the actual location of Toontown is somewhere behind Hollywood, though now it is officially located within Disneyland in Aneheim, California. |
