Bent-Tail and his son, Junior, were two perpetually hungry coyotes. Bent-Tail was introduced in the animated short "Legend of Coyote Rock" where he was Pluto's adversary. Pluto was minding a flock of sheep when Bent-Tail tried to nab little Blackie the lamb. Bent-Tail's plans a foiled by Pluto. His next appearance is in "Sheep Dog" (1949) when he is trying to teach his brainless son, Bent-Tail Junior, a thing or two about sheep stealing. Again Pluto foils his inept plans. Next, in "Pests of the West" (1950), this time Pluto is in charge of a hen house. Once more Bent-Tail is teaching his mindless son to hunt. Finally in "Camp Dog" (1950) Pluto is guarding a campsite for two unseen campers (Mickey & Goofy?) and
the camp is terrorized by Bent-Tail and his son. Bent-Tail Junior appears without his father in "Walt Disney's Comics & Stories" #117 (June 1950) when Zeke "Big Bad" Wolf gives his son, Li'l Bad, a pet coyote (Bent-Tail Junior) in hopes that a wild animal will have a bad influence on him. Fortunately Practical Pig is able to temper the little coyote through hypnotism. |
