Stretcher Shrinker These tools are just about the only things that will make smooth radius curves in sheet metal without cutting, welding, heating, hammering or otherwise mutilating the material. They are small, lightweight and portable. Bolt them to your workbench or clamp them in a vise for easy operation. Use them in the shop or take them with you on the job. The Shrinker contracts sheet metal for inside curves. The Stretcher expands sheet metal for outside curves. Use both in conjunction for compound curves. The hand-operated press gives 45 to 1 leverage with a 12-inch handle (included). Jaws are made of durable hardened alloy steel and are replaceable. Each unit comes completely assembled and ready to use. Our shrinker/stretcher tools can form curves down to a 3" radius in a variety of metals: mild steel (up to 16 gauge), stainless steel (up to 20 gauge), and aluminum (up to 17 gauge). The bodies are cast iron. The jaws are hardened tool steel to last longer than most careers. Parts including replacement jaws are available if ever (rarely) needed. The Shrinker forms outside radius curves and the Stretcher forms inside radius curves. They are perfect for forming complicated patch pieces for such areas as rear wheel arches, dog legs, window edges, and trunk edges.
