THE VELVET ALL GIRL

SKATE/SURF CAMP

THE VELVET ALL GIRL SKATE/SURF CAMP

Encinitas, CA - The All Girl Skate Jam (AGSJ) is joining forces with
Danger Woman (a.k.a. Kim Hamrock, world surf champ/titleholder and owner of Danger Woman Surf City Surf School) for one week of summertime board sports fun. Taking place June 10-15, 2001 in Cardiff, California, the Velvet All Girl Skate/Surf Camp will give girls of all ages and abilities the opportunity tolearn to skateboard and surf in a fun, relaxed atmosphere.
Traditionally, the AGSJ has exposed girls to skateboarding through five
years of competitive events. However, to inspire new girls to get on
skateboards and get out in the water, event founder Patty Segovia is
branching out by offering the finest skateboarding and surfing
instruction together under one "roof". The girls will camp at San Elijo State Beach, wake up to a yoga class and early morning surf lesson, then move on to the Encinitas YMCA for both street and halfpipe skateboarding lessons. Kim Hamrock, along with her staff, will be on hand for coaching during the surf segment of the camp. Professional skateboard instructors that include World Champion Cara Beth Burnside, Jen O'Brien, Cnaan Omer and Amy Caron will provide the skateboard coaching throughout the week.

Velvet Eyewear, a longtime supporter of the AGSJ Tour is the title
sponsor of the AGSJ Skate/Surf Camp with additional sponsors that include Wahine Magazine, Roxy, Etnies, Hawk Clothes and Swamis Café.
The Camp provides all the necessary gear and safety instruction in both
segments as well as three meals a day. The girls will even have the
opportunity to mingle with the pros while roasting marshmallows. In
addition to learning new tricks and making new friends, the campers will leave with a very hefty goodie bag.
