I think this is an acute situation and the violence must be stopped. Sounds like an injunction is called for!
On this list we often discuss official violence but usually that's about something that has already happened, or may some time happen. Here the offense is repeated and ongoing and public and people's lives are being threatened by official violence.
We should do something. That's why I suggested maybe "Ella Baker" might have an angle. Don't know how to reach them directly.
There's a 1 PM rally [press conference] today across from the Football Stadium.

Seems like you might want to put pressure on the UCPD (and on Berkeley PD to not help) to start. Publishing info about the "arborists" would help, too. Doesn't take the EBC to start that. Just write up an announcement (let the treesit supporters know what you're doing) and send it out.
