Recent reports by Journalist Jane Mayer suggest that the psychological theory of "learned helplessness" was used by Mitchell and Jessen as the foundations for the CIA’s torture program.
Is it possible to indicate that that promoting learned helplessness violates "do no harm" and that ethics links to positively overcoming this dynamism?
I'm not sure how to put that so it's concrete enough for the thrust of the letter, but I feel it's important.
