Subject: Student Activism program Monday Dec. 7th
The SJCC Mental Health Client Association is doing a panel presentation on "Student Activism" Monday December 7th 12:30-2PM in SC-204. We are interested in bringing "stigma and discrimination" against mental health "client/survivors" into the mainstream of advocacy discussion and action.
Hope Holland, a recent graduate of our ADS program will present on the project "Foundations of Transformation" involving developing a speaker's bureau for County Mental Health in this "stigma and discrimination" advocacy area. Former A.S. President Raymond Woods, Jr. and current De Anza College A.S.B President Marlo Custodio will also present.
The stereotyping and discriminatory perspectives that are commonplace today need to be engaged.
The event is endorsed by the A.S. and by DSP/S.
