    Voicing of story v. objectification by ‘labeling’:   Triggering should be recognized as a normal vulnerability and triggering people deliberately or heedlessly should be recognized as a discriminatory practice.

  1. Challenge DR emphasis on low-functioning jobs. How to revamp Client Assistance Program or change the way DR is monitored?
  2. System accountability for hurting people by treatment/case management. How to modify the role of conservators in reinforcing discrimination?
  3. Development of criteria for ‘treatment’ discrimination. Publication of this information as a pamphlet: Discrimination and the signs to recognize it.
  4. Advocacy for responsibility in recovery treatment, including responsibility of client providers. How do you recover from discrimination?
  5. Training for clients in the skills needed to advocate for the reasonableness of people's hopes and dreams.
  6. How do you recover from the trauma of being in the psychiatric system? What remedies, e.g. class actions, are available for mitigating this trauma?
  7. Legislative advocacy leading to discrimination reform. This could be developed as a comprehensive package of behavioral expectations on the part of the system.
  8. Reform of the 24/7 system requiring the justification of choices in terms of the longterm good of the clients, the path through the trauma.
