The transportation to and from Jose's place went well. We arrived at the park about 7:30 and Jose went directly to the church and I helped carry some of the equipment used to set up the Wall of Stolen Lives. Most of the time I read about a lot of the people on the wall, and the wall was quite impressive. The Mass was given in Vietnamese, and the choir was excellent.

The rally started on time with Mr. Konda giving a short speech which ended with a cheer:

What do we want? "Justice"

When do we want it? "Now".

Then a group of musicians played some Spanish songs, which one of the songs was about people with picket signs. Then Ms. Chau Tran's grandfather spoke with passion about the loss of his granddaughter. The next speaker was the President of the Vietnamese Officer's Association. The next speaker was one of Rudy's daughters, and she spoke about some of her memories of her father. The next was Cameron Boyd's mother , and she spoke about the two injustices committed by San Francisco Police, one when he was driving her car and police assumed he had stolen the car and he ended up losing both his legs, and ten years later he was shot down in cold blood by San Francisco Police. The next speaker was Mr. Ayala, who spoke about the death of his sister, who was shot down in ten minutes after police had arrived to answer a non emergency call seeking help for his sister by a member of the Union City Police, who was later acquitted of the charge, and was given award for Policeman of the Year Award, and received a promotion to Sergeant. The next speaker was Mr. Rosenberg, who spoke of the tragedy of the death of his son, who was shot down by Fremont Police while he was unarmed standing in the front yard of his father's house. Last but not least our friend Jose, who gave an impassioned speech about the killing of citizens by police whether or not they had mental health issues.

Then Mr. Konda led us in the same cheer that we started with at the beginning of the rally. The whole rally was covered by KRON TV, Channel 4.

Respectively yours,

Phil Winn
