HERE.The client/survivors are accustomed (as the general attitude towards our human rights struggle is denial) to being demeaned by language usages. For instance the term "consumer" - which Phil Cushman in "Why the Self is Empty" explains is the historically derived stereotype ("hate speech") to deny our integrity - is commonly employed, is standard in SAMHSA and local mental health talk most places.
My lived experience is that "language arts" professionals who support social justice can pick out these verbal abuses and trace them to the Renaissance "transition to capitalism" limits that obtain in Western history. In other words, the diagnostic of "hate speech" is grounded in a substantial way.
