We presented the note/petition to the NCMHCSO meeting last nite. Naomiruth Pinson raised her hand during the questions period, spoke to her feelings on the concern about process, and handed Dan Fisher the petition. We concentrated on making its presentation diplomatic and polite and non-confrontational, and .. we got it right.
:-) Thanks Pat and Naomi and Yvonne and everybody else who was representing the Social Accountability Work Group in that situtation!Just before Naomi spoke, it happens a person from Ohio spoke up, in the same polite and authentic manner, and spoke to the "process" question in the Ohio context. That coincidence "connected" for us. .. She is now a member of the S-ACC list. Welcome!
There were 13 names on the petition, from California four, from Texas two, and one each from Ohio, Massachusetts, Colorado, North Carolina, District of Columbia, Michigan, and Oregon.
I feel good about our work that evening.
