This is well put.

It's worth attending to the "Jericho response" system as it is now developing. For instance Sharfstein, who was ApA President in 2005, spoke to the breakdown of "bio-bio-bio" and the need for a more complex "bio-psycho-social" approach that involved more clinical activity by psychiatrists. That's sold as "talk therapy is the gold standard." However they are not speaking of the social complexities like torture and the ethical failure to embrace "do no harm" in such a forthcoming way. And ultimately of course they aren't speaking to the "transformation to relational psychology" and the challenge to the pre-scientific nature of the 'medical model'.

It's like they are facing "symptoms" of "performance difficulties."

Thanks for the note.

NAMI at their conventions always has NIMH researchers. I learned years ago from the that the gene for schizophrenia and the gene that controls gluten were on the same gene scale. The drugs were developed knowing that. It was out in the open no secret.

Years ago when I was part of meeting of consumers of various illnesses at FDA the side effects were seen as acceptable. Compares to chemo and radiation. This was 10 years ago. So Lilly knows this. Newsweek Feb 8 has article saying a placebo is just as good for depression. That talk therapy is the gold standard that works for everyone.

Jericho’s wall is tumbling.
