Unfortunately the effect of this "psycho-surge" is to promote more conformity with habits of thinking that encourage authoritarian personality.
This is the argument of Zimbardo and Merari, for a "better rat psychology" which then can be imposed on people who want freedom and dignity. Is this what brings out "the best" in people with "Islamic perspective?"
