Subject: Re: [psysr-disc] Resigners

Quoting Ttt:

Does anyone know anyone (besides me) who has resigned APA for ethical reasons (or just general disgust, whatever)? Has anyone here even pondered the idea for a moment?

Gerald Mendelsohn is an emeritus personality psychologist at U.C. Berkeley; also served as Dean of Letters & Science. He was the "3rd member" of my 1st thesis committee (before I was hospitalized); later he was the advisor for my senior project paper (as a 2nd B.A. student in psychology),

Gerry said he resigned from APA "a long time ago" I think it was in the 60s because it was taken over by clinical psychology (and some allied consulting people) and the broader and more general issues of psychology were "marginalized."

I don't know about "general disgust," but there is a standing problem of an improper balance of power within the APA.
