Fff:

The positivity and complexity of your presentation here is appreciated.

We are confronted by "behavioral science" — due to our social condition — and its agenda is .. to get us to 'behave'. As Martin Luther King, Jr. told the American Psychological Ass'n, we need to advocate for "creative maladjustment" on the basis of the values of "freedom and dignity." So far this list project has not fully grappled with the complexity of the "behavioral dynamism" we are facing.

[I put a link to MLK, Jr.'s speech in the "Links" section of this list.]

I described to Nnn the choice of CALIFORNIACLIENTS and we agreed that the perplexity of the Santa Barbara local advocacy problem inclines people to that kind of "talk." I'm glad that [the E.D.] spoke up regarding the propriety of this usage and pleased that the list moderators (Vvv) have seen fit to adjust.

I'd like to see a list process that fully engages the "behavior dynamism" conundrum. Fff, you are right about the CNMHC list, to a point. However there's the matter of strategic design and I doubt that "information only" rises to the occasion of what's needed. I hope the present effort here will go towards more and more adequacy to the problem of "discussions" regarding 'compliance', regarding the expectations we 'behave'.

Dear Vvv .. I have known you for a while now, and under very close circumstances during our Finding Our Voice training....I seldom comment on folk's posts because I truly believe that this site has become, not only an information exchange, but also a "testing" site for various opinions and messages .. but to attribute the radical turn in tone that it had taken of recent months to the "staleness" of the moderator Is unacceptable to me .. Rst has given truly of her time, talent and patience .. attempting to stand by a code of least interference, to treat list members as adults, hoping we would police our own Behavior .. when it became apparent that there would be no "correction" in movement, she did indeed step in, and with a heavy heart .. please appreciate the work that Rst put into developing this site, guiding it thru its infancy, and then allowing it with respect to mature into a full-fledged listserve .. I too am heartbroken that it took such a bitter turn, but it was not the responsibility of the moderator for us to exhibit dignity and respect to each other .. she just had to call a halt to hurtful comments .. so don't blame the "piano player" .. consider the tunes being played .. I thank Rst for all she's done, both for this site and her work in QI and I send my love to her .. also to the gang in Santa Barbara and throughout the state ..
