Recent developments:

1. Coni Kalinowski agreed to participate in the August 17^th event. I also put her on the summary panel — with B.J. — where they can support Nancy in her discussion regarding “Whither S.C.C.M.H.?”
2. Philip Cushman agreed to participate in the event also. His book Constructing the self, constructing America is a must for the approach we are taking. We have assigned him approximately 10 minutes presentation along with Nancy and Jose. He was particularly interested in the 2×2 work. He wants to learn more about the perspective of the line providers with the County.
3. Being dauntless I constructed another 2×2 team consisting of Philip and Coni. I don’t believe they’ve met, but I think they will be wonderfully complementary for one another.
4. Lynne Stewart the former CEO of the California Network also agreed to participate in the event. The Accountability Caucus regards Lynne as a ‘predecessor’, somebody who made an outstanding effort in her own time to bring the clients to a higher level of activism.
5. Had a long talk with Almalicia Castillo, who works p/t for the County and was supposed to be a member of the organizing committee. She has a direct class conflict as a De Anza student; she will be joining us after the end of Spring Quarter.
6. On the other hand, Alison Mills informed me that she could no longer continue on the organizing committee. There is a new M.H. Director in San Mateo County — Gale Bataille — and there are serious things that call her attention thither.

Overall this thing is getting more and more serious and we are responding very well. Every step forward means we have to work through new things and adapt to the novelty as creatively as we can.
