Subject: [s-acc] Re: 'creative maladjustment' initiative
Hi
Last Sunday Feb. 22 three of us (myself, Lynne Stewart, Delphine Brody) met with Jancis Long, Pres. of
Psychologists for Social Responsibility reporting on the OpCom discussion the preceding weekend. We had a long (over 2 hour) discussion and discussed a series of 'concrete' steps for moving the "networking based on mutual respect" agenda "beyond tokenism."PsySR is one of a number of "social justice" psychology organizations, and one immersed in the "interrogation torture" issue currently. It's affiliated with APA Division 48 "Peace Psychology."
Some of the direction(s) for moving this "creative maladjustment" project forward could be helped if more people here joined PsySR. The website above tells you how; the E.D. Colleen Cordes tells me they'll accept applicants generally, with the involvement/interest that it takes to belong to S-ACC, and the cost is minimal for low income and students. There is a general discussion list one can join once one's a member, PSYSR-DISC. I can provide more detail.
