Subject: Client Psychology Work Group

This weekend July 14-16 at the Mendocino County Fairgrounds in Boonville, the Mendocino Environmental Center is sponsoring Active-Fest 2000. This event, which is building off last years’ Seattle WTO activities, is billed as “a creative, conscious celebration of interdependence, diversity, empowerment and activism supporting human rights, community and the environment.” Further info can be found at http://www.saber.net/~rafa.

The Client Psychology Work Group, organized by the Accountability Caucus, is a participating organization in this event. This is a very complex event with many threads; our proposed presentations include:
  1. Workshop, “The New Economy: Madness in the Silicon Valley,” by a group of Santa Clara County clients
  2. Speech, “The Betrayal of the Mental Patients by the Left,” by Andrew Phelps
  3. Workshop, “Finding Beauty in Mendocino County Mental Health,” by Sharon Clausen and Leigh Delap (invited), members of the Mendocino County MHB
  4. Skit, “Discrimination,” led by Alison Mills
Boonville is on State Route 128 half-way between Cloverdale and the Mendocino Coast. Most of our presentations will be on Saturday June 15th. This is a public event and all are welcome; there is free camping on the site. People interested in the Client Psychology Work Group are invited to talk with us about participating with us.
