Subject: [no-list] PsySR blog posted
Hi
The NO-LIST hasn't been active for some months but the concerns that motivated it still obtain. Right now there is a general "political reset" in this country, and the various parts of our movement are busy with their piece(s) of things.
My own project I call "accountability to the grassroots" and I believe it's related to linking with the "paradigm shift" in social science which is slowly taking place. [That's "oppose the 'medical model'" not as challenging Big Pharma merely but to engage its
prescientific nature; it's akin to 'alchemy' which preceded chemistry.]Getting the world of psychology to listen is one of my 'responsibilities', as I see it. They mainly tokenize, alas. However they are deeply enmeshed in the Am. Psych. Ass'n investment in torture support, and this weekend's upcoming Boston meeting (in the words of their activists) challenges the "soul" of psychology. The "learned helplessness" issue is .. getting to them.
Today Psychologists for Social Responsibility posted a blog written by myself and Lynne Stewart, which I'd say amounts to a kind of 'voicing'. Take a look at it!
