kicking the football

Another observation —

That is, the subtle and not so subtle ways the administration dominates our process and meetings. Almost every month they come up with something they say is urgent, or vital, or timely that they want to present at our monthly board meetings. No one ever objects, because they are so convincing as to the need to do it. So what happens is that they take up 45 minutes of our hour meeting on a subject they have chosen. This has the same effect as in pro football, to-wit, as long as you can keep the ball you can dominate the game.
