Eee:
I listen to Amy Goodman. This item is excellent and thank you for bringing it to the attention of the ENDTORTURE list.
However Amy still treats "mental patients" as second class people. Naomi Klein went so far as to interview one of 'us' (a victim of CIA torture MK-Ultra) for her "Shock Doctrine" book. Amy has yet to take that plunge. And she calls her book "Standing Up to the Madness." [!]
When Amy gave her book tour visit in Oakland, here in the East Bay, my friend and I protested. [He and I are each former Chairs of the Berkeley Mental Health Commission.] Here's the flyer.
We each talked with her - from the book signing line - after the presentation, so she got (at least) two copies of it.

Hi all,
This is from a transcript of the Tavis Smiley show from yesterday. Amy Goodman was on speaking about her new book (written with her brother, David Goodman), "Standing Up to the Madness." She spoke about psychologists and interrogations, the campaign, and then Smiley brought up Ridley-Thomas!
Transcript.
