Good, Uuu. And I'm sorry I posted this hitting "send" twice.

My interest is in how close the "client/survivor" issues are coming to the people working on the "interrogation torture" question. Not that they "have it right" (yet) regarding our issues.

We have the possibility of productive conversations with the "end torture" people, I think. And part of that is due to your advocacy.

The article makes a distinction between those who have history of mental illness or violence and those who don't - important to counter this. Medical reasons are not sufficient under current international standards to legally drug someone against his or her will.

In particular, the new Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities supersedes the earlier "MI Principles" on this issue; I have said it before on this list but am happy to explain further to anyone who is interested.
