People learn to "work" day treatment. They develop stereotypical behavior patterns and learn how the reflexes of the staff work. If the system were 'enlightened' some good might come of that. But typically one gets habits which are adjusted to fit the social demands provided. And those are not generally 'freedom' and 'dignity'. If we want to speak to folks with this kind of "bad habit," or if we want to "be ourselves" we need to take the responsibility for the habits we've learned. This kind of "treatment path" replaces "having a life."
I'm not just talking about "helping" people, I'm talking about a political/mass line for liberation and respect.
