RELAY FOR LIFE WALK FOR CANCER
Our Council sponsored a team in this event calling themselves "Survivor". The event was held on August 15 and 16, at the Gold Country Fairgrounds. Faber Eaves took charge of this event with many Knights, Families and Parishioners from St. Joseph and St. Teresa participating. We are proud to report that at this year's event a total of 30 teams came together, bringing hundreds of participants who raised $? and counting (Knights raising over $?) through Relay For Life. Brother Faber is recognized for raising the most funds as an individual ... Way to Go Faber! And a wondrous group of 120 survivors provided inspiration to all. Again, this was truly an amazing year!
Relay for Life 2009
The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic family
fraternal service organization with 1.6 million members. It provides
members and their families with volunteer opportunities in service to
the Catholic Church, their communities, families and young people.
Membership in the Knights of Columbus is open to practicing Catholic
men in union with the Holy See, who are at least 18 years old. A
practicing Catholic is one who lives up to the Commandments of God and
the precepts of the Church. Application blanks are available from any
member of the Knights of Columbus.
