FAMILY PICNIC
Our Council held their third annual family picnic at Jim and Connie Jordan's ranch on Uncle Joes Lane in Newcastle on Saturday, August 1st.
There were activities for the whole family including: Pitching horseshoes, bounce house for the kids, catch and release fishing in the bass pond.
We thank Steve and Mary Jorgensen for organizing the event. We also thank "Cool" DJ Harvey Weybrew for providing the Oldies but Goodies music from the past which we all enjoyed. Of course we also appreciate and thank Jim and Connie for offering their home for this event.The big winners of the horseshoe pitching were , Faber Eaves and Tim Reuter as the closers.
Among the attendees were some of our oldest members. Barney Gruber, WWII veteran U.S. Marines, Irv Eastman, WWII veteran, U.S. Army, Bob Bucy, WWII veteran, U.S. Navy. We thank them for their service to our country. Many thanks to Bob Bucy and Irv Eastman for preparing and cooking the sweetest and delicious corn-on-the-cob. Bob is known, for about 10 years, on his corn recipe. Bob spent a career in the U.S. Navy as Chief cook.

We had plenty of food and fun on this beautiful spring like day.
