An action like this, if anything would happen, might just as well rise prices. More info on this particular chainletter: http://urbanlegends.about.com/science/urbanlegends/library/blgasboycott.htm Forward Chainletters is more harmfull than most people think. Email boxes get flooded, some people (like Clark) get flooded with inaccurate replies, sometimes phone numbers and email addresses have to be totally renewed having been made unusable by the constant flow of hundreds of thousands emails. But it does tend to be slightly more expensive because of higher octane and because its sold by small independent operators who can't buy in bulk anymore. My marina no longer can use its large underground tank and has an above ground tank. Its usually only about 10 to 20 cents more than car gas. It also seems to lead summer prices on the up side. I expect well over $2.00 a gallon very soon. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com -- Visit the PC800 web page at To unsubscribe from the list, send "unsubscribe pc800" in the body of a message to majordomo@hpc.uh.edu. I paid $4,900 for my bike and he paid over $18,000 for his- both are 97s, I think. Both bikes were slightly used when purchased. He paid out a lot more money in which he does not have any chance in which to earn any interest (or investment gain) on that money each and every year. That lost opportunity compounds. The time value of money is working against him. This difference would mean over $1,000 a year even at a relatively low 8% rate. (Aren't motorcycle loans usually at least 8%?) This difference would buy a lot of gas every year. It would certainly offset a lot of any so called depreciation advantage, don't you think? Just a few thoughts.
